Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Division of Surgical Oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving team of clinicians, educators, and researchers. Northwestern Medicine is one of the premier academic medical systems in the nation. Furthermore, the Cancer service line is highly ranked nationally and the Department of Surgery is positioned among leading surgery departments for receipt of NIH funding. Responsibilities include providing surgical oncology services in Northwestern Medicine's downtown Chicago locations. This role will be expected to take call, round and care for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team, and respond on a daily basis to local consultation requests and referrals. Preferred candidates will play a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming throughout the Northwestern cancer program and will have significant opportunities for leadership development throughout the Northwestern Medicine system. This position will include an appointment on the faculty within the Division of Surgical Oncology of Northwestern University. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in clinical surgical oncology, with preference for candidates with experience in complex gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary surgery, including experience with HIPEC. Qualified candidates will also have completed an ACGME accredited complex surgical oncology fellowship program, and are board certified or eligible in complex general surgical oncology. Surgical Oncologists in this position may participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs (e.g., training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc.) or research programs (e.g., participation in clinical trials, referring patients for clinical trials, etc.).
