Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Division of Hospital Based Medicine are seeking pediatric hospitalists on the non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator track at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor or Health System Clinician for three locations:

  • Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago
  • Prentice Women's Hospital
  • Outreach Partner Hospitals located in Chicago and the Chicago suburbs

Lurie Children's provides superior pediatric care in a setting that offers the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design. With 1,245 pediatric specialists focusing on 70 specialties in multiple locations, Lurie Children's is the largest pediatric specialty provider in the region.

Full-time and part-time pediatric hospitalist positions are available at Lurie Children's, Prentice Women's Hospital, and Outreach Partner Hospitals.

Lurie Children's Hospital, Lurie Children's Immediate Care Centers, and Prentice Women's Hospital:
Pediatric Hospitalist responsibilities include coverage of the PICU, NICU, Inpatient Wards and Immediate Care at Lurie Children's as well as NICU coverage, attendance at labor and delivery and normal newborn coverage at Prentice Women's Hospital.

Opportunities for exclusively NICU, PICU or Immediate care positions are available, in addition to tertiary/community split positions with our Outreach Hospitalist Division. We welcome applicants interested in careers in Academic Hospital Medicine, as well as applicants interested in spending shorter periods in Hospital Medicine before entering fellowships in Pediatric Subspecialties such as Neonatology and Pediatric Critical Care. These positions offer opportunities to work with pediatric residents, medical students and advanced practice nurses. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Outreach Partner Hospitals located in Chicago and the Chicago suburbs:
Responsibilities at Outreach Partner Hospitals vary by site and can include general pediatric inpatient medicine, consultation services, attendance at deliveries, sedation, and coverage of newborn and special care nurseries. While candidates with previous hospitalist experience, especially in delivery room care, are preferred, we have a robust onboarding program for all sites.

As a pediatric hospitalist with Lurie Children's, you will receive competitive pay including vacation, malpractice insurance, medical, dental and retirement benefits. Closing date for receipt of applications is flexible. Candidates must be boarded or board eligible in general pediatrics.

Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be boarded or board-eligible in Pediatrics. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled. When applying, please upload a CV and cover letter describing your interest and alignment with the position.
