Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, together with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Team Scientist at the rank of Assistant Professor to serve as the Director of its Disability Ethics program. The SRALab Disability Ethics program is a unique and impactful program that is heavily involved in not only providing consultation on patient care issues, but also education to faculty, medical trainees, and hospital staff. Their focus is on the special ethical issues that apply to people with disabilities and the professionals who care for them. In addition to providing support and assistance to the Director of the Bioethics program in developing curriculum and learning materials, the person will be expected to teach medical students, residents, fellows, allied health professionals, and people with disabilities and their families. Further, the ethics professional will be expected to generate papers for publications, participate in or lead research projects, and collaborate with other members of the Department faculty. Another important expectation will be collaborating with the medical bioethics program of the Medical School. This position is for an individual to serve as a Senior Bioethicist in the SRALab Disability Ethics program, who will support and collaborate with the Director of the SRAlab Disability Ethics Program to recruit and train staff; identify and implement new educational activities, organizational initiative, and grant opportunities; lead and supervise educational opportunities to train institutional staff about ethics related issues; and design and implement PM&R ethics education for medical students, residents, and other trainees.
