Evanston, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF INSTRUCTION MEDIA PRODUCTION (NON-TENURE ELIGIBLE) The Department of Radio/Television/Film (RTVF) and the Master's program in Sound Arts & Industries (https://sound.northwestern.edu) are seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction in sound production and post-production with an emphasis on film sound design. Ideal candidates will have professional experience in film sound design as well as teaching experience in that area. Expertise in additional areas of media arts - such as sound art, game design, installation art, or filmmaking (including cinematography, field recording, editing, directing, producing, etc) - is highly welcomed, but not required. The ideal candidate would be able to teach both graduates and undergraduates introductory-level and advanced film sound design courses that address the conceptual, formal, and technical aspects of sound in audiovisual media production. Successful applicants will be able to teach theoretical and practical hands-on courses in sound design and one or more other media production areas. Candidates should have a record of professional practice and/or creative activity, a terminal degree (MFA or PhD), and prior teaching experience. We may consider candidates without a terminal graduate degree if such candidates have extraordinary professional accomplishments. Employment term: A 12-month appointment beginning September 1, 2022. The appointment may be renewed on an annual basis. Qualifications:
