About the unit

Surgery Suite 100 is a fast paced, changing OR environment,consisting of 9 ORs. Service lines include ophthalmology, podiatry, sports medicine, hands, breasts, microvascular plastic reconstruction, reconstructive plastics, general surgery procedures, and robotic surgery. We provide care for both pediatric and adult patient populations. Suite 100 utilizes a teamwork approach, comprised of RNs, Surgical Technologists, and Surgery Support Staff to provide compassionate care for patients while supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers throughoutthesurgical procedure.Patient safety is primary focus, along with providing patient -family centered care. On call is required.

Scope of Work

The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum.

Qualifications

* High school diploma Required

* Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred

* 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience. Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required

* AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

* Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) - NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire
