Job Summary
Performs diagnostic evaluations, communicates evaluation results and recommendations as part of multidisciplinary teams within Center for Human Development (evaluating children with learning, developmental, and behavioral concerns).
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Corewell Children's Hospital. CHD offers a wide range of services, including multidisciplinary assessments for children and adolescents. Our clinical team is comprised of psychologists, board-certified developmental-behavioral pediatricians, board-certified pediatricians, and a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. Our comprehensive design allows for in-depth, individualized assessment and detailed recommendations. Our clinicians are skilled in diagnosing learning differences and disabilities, giftedness, and neurodevelopmental delays including autism spectrum disorder. Psychologists in the department also hold assistant professorships at Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School (OUWB) and as such are actively involved in medical education and training.
Essential Functions
  • Conducts family/client interviews. Makes decisions with family regarding evaluation procedures.
  • Administers psychological (and possibly educational) tests, interprets results, and creates assessment reports.
  • Participates in staff conferences, formulates impressions and recommendations. Creates final summary reports.
  • Communicates evaluation results to family/client.
  • Meaningful Participation as part of OUWBSOM Medical Staff.
Qualifications
  • Required Ph.D or PsyD in Psychology
  • Assessment experience with pediatric populations, especially with learning, behavioral, and developmental disorders. Required
  • LIC-Psychologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • Experience in diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) strongly preferred.
