Evanston, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF INSTRUCTION Screen Cultures, Radio/TV/Film Department (NON-TENURE ELIGIBLE) The Department of Radio/Television/Film is searching for a full-time faculty member whose research and teaching is in the area of BIPOC film/media history and theory. The successful applicant will hold the position of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Screen Cultures and will be responsible for teaching introductory lectures and upper-level seminars in film, television, digital media, and/or sound media. We welcome applicants exploring race and media within national, transnational, and/or global contexts. Additional desirable areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, queer or transgender media, media industries, and new media. We are especially interested in candidates with interdisciplinary interests who can interact with programs across our department such as sound arts, documentary media, film and video production, and screenwriting. Teaching experience and a Ph.D. in film and media or a related field is expected. Employment term: A 12-month appointment beginning September 1, 2022, renewable on an annual basis. Qualifications:

The School: The School of Communication has five departments and offers a suite of interdisciplinary undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs. The departments span the communication arts and sciences including the Department of Radio-Television-Film, the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, the Department of Communication Studies, the Department of Performance Studies, and the Department of Theatre (which includes music theatre and dance). The faculty of over 180 includes 102 tenure-eligible faculty. The school offers instruction to roughly 1000 undergraduate majors and 650 graduate and professional students.
