Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for the position of Director of Clinical Laboratory Services at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. This full-time, continuing position carries a primary faculty appointment at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic activity up to an Associate Professor. Responsibilities include scientific and clinical leadership over areas related to pre-analytical and post-analytical processes of the laboratories. This includes laboratory receiving and processing, sendout testing, courier and client support services, research services, laboratory test stewardship, and clinical decision support. As these areas have great opportunity for data-driven decision making and process optimization, this role will utilize and help expand our existing computational pathology infrastructure to develop and apply data analytics tools and applications that lead to innovative methods of service delivery and improved quality and efficiency of laboratory testing. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience developing or implementing informatic and/or advanced data analytics (e.g., machine learning) solutions and those with proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science (e.g., R, python, SQL). Qualified candidates will be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology or by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry or equivalent. Successful completion of either (i) a fellowship or equivalent training and/or experience in clinical or pathology informatics or (ii) an advanced degree related to data science or clinical informatics is preferred. Lurie Children's Hospital is an independent, free-standing hospital that provides tertiary care pediatric services, with active programs in all pediatric specialties.
