Job Summary

Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and management of Corewell Health's annual giving programs - direct mail, social media fundraising, commemorative giving, and special projects. Responsible for strategic major gifts interface through programs and pipeline development. Maintain portfolio of entry-level gift prospects for direct solicitation. Provide assistance, as needed, with Foundation campaigns, including employee giving and physician giving. Work closely with other Foundation and health system team members on the specific programs to develop basic strategies and plans, monitor progress and make changes in plans, as needed. Strong writing and graphic design management skills required.

Essential Functions
  • Work with Foundation leadership to develop basic strategies and goals for the Annual Fund program with emphasis on meeting revenue goals, increasing the number of donors and pipeline development. Oversee these programs at all Foundation locations, including monitoring progress on reaching goals. Oversees the handling of complaints and inquires that come from annual giving solicitations.

  • Work with the Development Services departments to plan, design, write copy, and produce materials needed for annual giving programs.

  • Oversee the preparation and management of budgets for the assigned programs.

  • Prepare periodic detailed reports analyzing fund-raising results, program effectiveness and other aspects of the various programs. Make recommendations concerning enhancing current methods or adopting alternate methods of fundraising to increase donor/prospect participation and income levels.

  • Provide annual analysis of projects to determine if efforts should continue or cease. Manage communication and action plans in relation to this activity.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience At least five years of fundraising experience with annual giving, preferably in a hospital setting.

  • Evidence of working successfully with volunteers and committees and with direct mail and telemarketing programs.

Preferred

  • Experience with major giving or capital campaigns.
