Position Summary
Lead/manage the Sales & Operations Planning process for Capital and Service components sourced from Manufacturing Plants. Responsible for overall forecasting customer demand, inventory management, and determining time phased production/purchasing requirements. Responsible for managing the supply side, which includes leading build meetings and managing Master Planner team, which are located at the specific plants, and the Demand Planner. This includes developing the correct toolset and collaborating cross functionally to ensure the successful execution. Responsible for data validation, analysis, deck building and presentations for the executive committee. This position will work across the organization with sales, operations, finance, and product teams to develop accurate planning and forecasting for all new launches Key performance metrics include: Capital on-time shipping performance, lead time and inventory turn rate and value. Service components sourced from Manufacturing Plants - Stock Out percentage, Backorders, Fill-Rates, inventory below safety stock and inventory value. Oversee the item creation, setup, and maintenance process. Including standard items, engineering required items, and SSQ items.
What you will do
- Lead monthly S&OP process for surgical products including demand management, and supply/fulfillment activities.
- Ensure standard utilization of available tools and processes for optimum performance and establish a methodology for continuous improvement of S&OP and related business processes.
- Take ownership of key supply-demand/service-cost issues to ensure timely resolution, work directly on the resolution of customer service issues.
- Collaborate with direct staff and manufacturing counterparts to ensure on-time deliveries to customers while minimizing inventory investments and increasing inventory turns.
- Develop and implement an overall Materials Plan for raw material through finished goods to optimize inventory and fulfillment.
- Manage service components sourced from Manufacturing Plants inventory for surgical items. Including adjusting safety stock levels, managing forecast error, scrapping obsolete items to meet field service technician and customer demand.
- Create and utilize system reporting to assist with problem resolution. Conduct and/or facilitate data analysis to identify issues, gaps, trends, etc. Recommend and implement solution.
- Develops and / or supports the development of all related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Updates SOP's as required.
- Oversee the item creation, setup, and maintenance process. Including standard items, engineering required items, and SSQ items.
- Provide strategic and tactical direction to staff. Lead, coach, train and develop team members for optimum performance.
- Summarize and monitor key performance measures applicable to S&OP execution. Develop action plans as necessary.
- Recommends solution, designs, and implements system processes to improve productivity, increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Drive phase in and phase out processes with key stakeholders as it relates to forecasting, driving MPS, obsoleting items, etc.
- Work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Product Development to communicate product forecasts.
- Create/manage various data analytics reporting responsibilities to support cross functional teams.
- Maintain continuous communication with direct staff by conducting frequent one-on-one meetings.
- Foster and embrace a Continuous improvement culture by effective use of LEAN Continuous Improvement tools to improve any production and/or administrative processes while reducing Nonvalue added activities and eliminating waste.
- Participate in strategy and tactics for employee engagement.
- Provide an engaging work environment, fosters two-way communication, hires, evaluates performance (quarterly/annually), provides feedback, development assignment opportunities, and holds them accountable for meeting established KPI's.
What you will need to be successful
- Bachelor degree
- 5+ years' experience in planning & logistics.
- 3+ years supervisory or management experience.
- 1+ years of experience in international, statistical forecasting, leadership
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Strong administrative and management skills.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations
- Strong persuasive and presentation skills (oral and written)
- Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
- Strong skills in Excel (V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, IF, Solver), ERP software, and Advanced Planning software.
- Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management
- Ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, problems solving, business acumen, and time management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units and functions, and develop strong business relationships with key stakeholders
- Innovative and Independent thought leader with a focus on continuous improvement and an entrepreneurial mentality.
- The ability to independently identify, build, plan, and present recommendations.
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, commitment, and follow-through
