Job Summary:

Postdoctoral Scholar:

Postdoctoral Scholars are individuals with recently granted degrees of PhD or MD, or the equivalent terminal degree, who are primarily involved in continuing postgraduate education or training in conducting research. Postdoctoral scholars are normally paid through the University payroll system and are considered employees of the University.

Specific Responsibilities:

We are seeking ambitious and outstanding postdocs who are interested in studying the following research areas:

  • RNA Splicing and regulation in brain tumors, both adult and pediatric gliomas.
  • RNA splicing and regulation in brain tumor-associated myeloid cells, endothelial cells, and immune cells.
  • Mechanisms of cancer therapy-resistance and targeting development for brain tumors.
  • Other projects in brain cancer that can be initiated by self-driven, capable, and independent postdocs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree completed in 1-3 years or expecting to graduate within 6-8 months in biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, or related field.

Minimum Competencies:

  • The applicants should be well-trained with proficient skills in studying cellular signaling, RNA biology, biochemistry, gene regulation with desired bioinformatic experience. The applicants must have strong publication records with first-author papers in high-impact journals. Postdoctoral scholars are expected to be independent, highly motivated with strong drive to succeed, capable of leading their own research projects and be in charge of all aspects of their project from conception, data generation and analysis to grant submissions and preparation of scientific publications under the guidance of the PI, believe in team science and collaborative, and proficient in English communications.
