Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (https://www.psychiatry.northwestern.edu/) at Northwestern University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor, who use clinical neuroscience research methods to study mechanisms and/or treatments for affective psychopathology. The faculty member will join a large, vibrant, multidisciplinary and highly collaborative community of neuroscientists and clinicians in a leading academic medical center located in the heart of downtown Chicago. We particularly encourage applicants using neuroimaging, neurostimulation, human electrophysiology, human experimental psychopharmacology, or psychoneuroimmunology approaches to study psychopathological mechanisms underlying affective, substance, and/or trauma-related disorders. Strong consideration will also be given to applicants whose research program is consistent with the National Institute of Mental Health's experimental therapeutics approach. Responsibilities include creating an internationally recognized research program in their specific area of clinical neuroscience, as well as mentoring students, fellows, and other trainees. There are numerous opportunities for collaboration with researchers in the Department of Psychiatry and other Feinberg (e.g., Medical Social Sciences; Department of Preventive Medicine) and Evanston campus (e.g., Department of Psychology) departments, as well as other Chicago-area institutions. Qualified candidates will have productive postdoctoral training, a collaborative research approach, a strong track record of impactful publications, and evidence of obtaining extramural funding. We are open to candidates from a broad range of disciplines (e.g., clinical psychology, cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, bioengineering) and graduate degrees (e.g., PhD, MD, PsyD).
