Your Role

As a Business Process Expert you will work within our Transportation team to maintain, improve, and train others on systems, tools, and processes within the department. You will report directly to the Transportation manager and work on a team with 5 other transportation professionals. You will work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office and 2 from home) #LI-Hybrid. You will be based in our South Charlotte office.

You will be responsible for optimizing processes, improving systems & tools and increasing and improving transparency & communication to shorten process lead times, generate transport savings, automate processes and proactively detect possible disruptions. You will actively participate in and/or initiate various local and global projects and groups.



  • You will refine the customer center experience as it relates to transportation services offered by the North American Service Center with the ultimate goal to reduce costs, create visibility, and improve the ease of use
  • You will evaluate current systems, tools and processes used by the Transportation Team and identify potential gaps & areas of improvement
  • You will initiate and lead projects to improve and/or create systems, tools and processes used by the Transportation Team
  • You will initiate testing, rolling out and following up on system adjustments, new systems and tools
  • You will organize and provide training and further education regarding relevant systems, tools and processes as needed
  • You will analyze and ensure accuracy of data created by the different systems and tools (reporting, ERP systems, etc.) used to support transport functions
  • You will proactively detect and prevent potential disruptions or outages of the different systems and tools used to support the transport functions used within the North American Service Center and any systems or tools used within other Atlas Copco North America entities where the NSC is the primary account holder
  • You will align with local and global teams to ensure best practices are implemented by performing cross business area projects in line with the Atlas Copco "10 Basic Principles of Transportation"
  • You will monitor and secure the knowledge of current and new systems, tools and processes via process documentation
  • Continuous monitoring of market developments regarding logistics & transportation
  • You will work collaboratively with other departments to improve transport processes within but not limited to, planning, purchasing, warehousing, customer service, and finance
  • You will create, implement and report on KPIs for transport processes
  • Perform other duties as needed





To succeed, you will need

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, computer science, business or related field (or equivalent work experience)


Experience



  • Willingness to develop an understanding of SQL, PowerBi, and other applicable systems/software to further enhance the capabilities and reporting of transportation within Atlas Copco

  • Experience of the domestic and international transport industry a plus



  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other similar ERP systems a plus



  • Experience with project and change management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication will be required to influence stakeholders and deliver positive change



  • Strong logical and analytical thinking will be needed to solve complex problems



  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects



  • Ability to learn new processes and systems & develop and implement improvement opportunities
