Your opportunity:

An Application Developer II provides development support for relatively complex applications using standard approaches, or for less complex applications may use new approaches. Development support may include third party software or in-house developed applications.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develops, modifies and maintains application software to support both the internal and external business processes.
  • Meets with analysts and project leaders to understand requirements and timelines.
  • Collaborates with users, analysts and project team members to assist in defining solution requirements.
  • Maintain existing code under minimal guidance from team
  • Perform unit testing on programming changes.
  • Document program revisions and overall solution design.
  • Create new applications based on specifications provided by analysts.
  • Develop application and training documentation for software that is clear, succinct, accurate, and appropriately detailed.
  • Assist in the creation or maintenance of application installation and troubleshooting guides for programs designed/developed.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day application issues and provides debugging support as needed.
  • Test and identify best solutions and create solution documents.
  • Provide support as needed in case of outages, job failures, implementations, etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues with systems worked with on a consistent basis.
  • With guidance from systems analysts, can understand and translate system requirements/technical specifications in the development process.
  • Understands specifications, and assists, where needed, in developing technical specifications.
  • Breaks down work into simple tasks, thinks through technical implementation.
  • Assists in formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex applications.
  • Manage tasks assigned to them and provide estimated time of completion.
  • Establish project priorities and deadlines.
  • Frequently communicates with the business/system analysts/other developers in the development process to discuss the system specifications and gain a better understanding of the business processes.
  • Participates in meetings with business personnel who work in another area of the company
  • Involved in technical discussions with other developers
  • Communicates issues with team members
  • Help train end users on new applications or enhancements to existing applications.
  • Constructively offer feedback and ideas for improvements in applications, processes, systems, and areas of a technical nature.
  • Does not hesitate to work directly with others; communicates any roadblocks they encounter with team members; does not hesitate to voice concerns.
  • Provides input and opinion on familiar topics without being prodded.
  • Experience with SAP, ABAP, Odata, Fiori, and UI5 preferred

What you should have:

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience required
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree required or equivalent years of job experience required
  • 4 Year / bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years of job experience required
