Your Opportunity:

As a Materials Specialist I/II/ or III, for the Greenheck Group, you will coordinate with manufacturing personnel to identify and resolve material issues to ensure on-time delivery and schedule attainment to customers. Identify process improvement opportunities, collaborate with others to streamline current nonvalue added processes, and assist in monitoring total plant inventory levels and engineering change notices.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act based on excess project/sales order stock and excess/obsolete inventory result. Assist in monitoring total plant inventory levels.
  • Support new and existing product development to the shop floor. This includes defining process flow and creating or updating routings, replenishment policies, capacity planning and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with plant scheduling, purchasing, and production supervision to identify and resolve key material issues preventing customer on time delivery and schedule attainment.
  • Determine what paperwork should be produced and when. Identify improvement opportunities within this process. Collaborate with IT personnel and company systems to streamline current non-value added shop floor processes.
  • Ensure the availability to manufacturing areas of parts and raw materials to ensure production delays do not occur, through organized stocking, labeling, and proper inventory relief of purchased and manufactured parts.
  • Research and proactively resolve differences.
  • Assist in leading engineering change notices & item activity notices between all constituents (planners, product engineers, bill of materials, buyers, and business units) to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely model and component changeovers in support of business unit objectives while minimizing scrap and obsolete inventory.
  • Determine optimum locations for inventory and oversee the physical storage activities while maintaining company safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in coordination and execution of year-end close cutoffs and inventory counts.
  • Assist with personnel to optimize labor costs, enforce safety practices and procedures, and proper employee development.
  • May develop, maintain, and distribute various inventory level reports.
  • Review and adjust safety stocks accordingly while collaborating with purchasing and manufacturing engineers.
  • May supervise hourly inventory control team members.
  • Maintain and provide all training required for shop floor and supervisory personnel who have direct accountability for inventory accuracy in their facilities.
  • Coordinate and execute cycle counting activities. Identify, document, and implement changes that need to be made to existing processes and procedures.
  • Plan, lead, and implement inventory reduction projects.
  • Resolve quality issues involving materials and work to determine root cause analysis.
  • Identify and work with other departments to set up inventory related master data of new parts.
  • Establish stocking requirements with material specialists at other campus facilities as well as purchasing team.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy and timely receipts of inventory manufactured and purchased parts executed by hourly inventory control team members.

  • This is a first shift on-site role located in Schofield, WI.
  • Minimal travel is required for this role.

What you should have:

  • Level I: 2-4 years of relevant work experience in materials/inventory management required.
  • Level II: 4-6 years of relevant work experience in materials/inventory management required.
  • Level III: 6-8 years of relevant work experience in materials/inventory management required.
  • 4 Year / bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field of study is required.
  • APICS Certification is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer and phone. Sedentary work. Substantial motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The person is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. There is an occasional need for walking short distances. Work may be performed in company's setting, home, or hybrid.
