As a MES Functional Lead - Quality, you will utilize your technical expertise to design and implement MES systems tailored to the unique requirements of manufacturing operations. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, configure software, and seamlessly integrate the system with existing production processes. You will also configure MES applications based on specific plant needs, including configuring workflows, defining production processes, and setting up user interfaces. Through continuous optimization, you enhance the production process, streamline operations, and enable data-driven decision-making.

What you'll be doing:

  • Understanding of Quality Metrics: Familiarity with key quality metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as defect rates, yield, and scrap rates.

  • Knowledge of Quality Tools: Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Experience with Quality Standards: In-depth knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations.

  • Experience in Quality Systems: Hands-on experience with quality management systems (QMS) and their integration with MES.

  • Inspection and Testing: Knowledge of inspection techniques, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes within manufacturing.

  • Advanced Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve product quality.

  • Experience with Quality Analytics Tools: Familiarity with software and tools used for quality data analysis and reporting.

  • Quality Improvement

  • Focus on Continuous Improvement: Strong commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to drive initiatives that enhance product quality.

  • Change Management in Quality: Ability to lead and manage changes in quality processes and systems effectively.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Quality Focused Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance teams, production, and engineering to ensure that quality requirements are met throughout the production process.

  • Compliance and Auditing

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.

  • Audit Experience: Experience in conducting or supporting internal and external quality audits.

  • Communication and Training

  • Quality Training: Ability to train staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices related to the MES system.

  • Effective Communication: Communicate quality expectations clearly and effectively to various teams and stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving with a Quality Focus

  • Quality Issue Resolution: Skilled in identifying and resolving quality issues quickly and efficiently to minimize impact on production.

  • System Design and Implementation: MES Functional Leads utilize their technical expertise to design and implement MES systems tailored to the unique requirements of manufacturing operations. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, configure software, and seamlessly integrate the system with existing production processes.

    • Configure MES applications based on specific plant needs, including configuring workflows, defining production processes, and setting up user interfaces.

  • Data Analysis and Optimization: By analyzing operational data collected from various sources such as machines, equipment, and sensors, MES Functional Leads identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Through continuous optimization, they enhance production processes, streamline operations, and enable data-driven decision-making.

    • Research and evaluate new MES technologies for continuous improvement.

  • Integration with Business Systems: MES Functional Leads ensure the seamless integration of the MES system with other business systems, including SAP (ERP software). This facilitates efficient data exchange, coordination, and streamlined communication across different departments within an organization.

  • Maintenance and Support: MES Functional Leads provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for MES systems. They monitor system performance, address technical issues, and implement upgrades or modifications when necessary to ensure smooth operations.

  • Training: Train on MES functionality and best practices.

What you should have:

  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Information Systems, Quality, or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • 6-8 years relevant work experience required.

  • Solid understanding or programming languages, databases and software concepts required.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills required.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills required.

  • Project management experience required.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and technologies, such as SCADA systems and PLCs preferred.

  • Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt), Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Management Systems certifications preferred.
