AGP is seeking a dynamic Reliability Engineer - Operations. This position will develop and utilize methods of assessment and management to improve the ongoing reliability of AGP's soy processing, oil refining methyl ester (biodiesel), and grain operations. This role will test current processes, gather and analyze data, highlight any failures or issues and assist in the development and implementation of improvement measures.

The primary focus of the position will be to determine the reliability of operations components, equipment and processes. Areas of focus will include: loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management.

The Reliability Engineer will work from the AGP Corporate office (in Omaha) but will travel regularly to our plant locations in Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota. Although daily tasks will vary, the following can be typical:



  • Identifying and reporting on potential failures within a process
  • Designing new systems; performing tests and analysis
  • Implement and check new systems or installations
  • Work closely with budgets and finances to help reduce costs
  • Conduct routine engineering calculations
  • Work with relevant teams on outcomes of tests/analysis


  • Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering field (mechanical, chemical, industrial, electrical, etc.) from an accredited university/college.
  • 5 + years of experience in similar role with successful outcomes
  • Proven capability to complete analysis to include:

    • Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
    • Reliability hazard analysis; root cause analysis
    • Avoidance of single point of failure (SPOF)
    • Testability analysis; accelerated testing
    • Operational hazard analysis
    • Preventative/Planned Maintenance Optimization (PM)
