DEPT: IT Security TITLE: Sr. Project Manager TERM: 12 Months SUMMARY Under the general guidance of the Health IT Security Program Manager, the Sr. Project Manager duties include those standard and identified in common project management systems (PMI PMP, Agile etc.). SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years minimum experience required in Information technology with preference given to those with 2 or more years in cybersecurity or identity management.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical project manager in managing large and complex projects with preference to those with specific management of cybersecurity and/or identity management projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to explain security processes and concepts to varied, often non-technical, audiences.
- Excellent critical thinking and business analysis skills with problem solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective group facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution skills.
- Effective ability to relate and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- General knowledge of policy & procedure creation and governance.
- General knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other state and federal regulations.
- General knowledge of common controls frameworks including ISO, NIST, COBIT, etc.
- Proficient at creating varied reports and roll-ups with recommendations that lead to successful and positive outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel)
- Experience with Project & Portfolio Management software (e.g. Clarity)
- A strong sense of customer service and attention to detail.
- Thrives on challenges in a fluid working environment and takes initiative to learn new technologies.
DUTIES
- Utilize UPlan (branded version of CA Clarity PPM tool) to lead, manage, schedule and track all projects assigned.
- Create and maintain documentation including but not limited to, project schedules, charters, RACIs, and communication plans.
- Create and/or give presentations to varied audiences including Executive Management.
- Collaborate with the Health IT PMO to understand and follow established processes including resource allocation.
- Collaborate with IT teams and clients to gather requirements and continuously inform assigned projects.
- Quickly gain forward momentum, set workstreams in motion, and drive the execution of initiatives with internal staff and external business partners.
- Identify and timely/appropriately notify Management of project issues and risks.
- Oversee vendor relationships as necessary for an assigned project.
- Schedule and lead meetings with published agendas and minutes.
- Utilize strong organizational, time management, decision making, and problem solving skills.
- Balance business needs with information risk management strategies.
- Demonstrate competence and gain credibility in the field of IT security among colleagues, management, vendor partners, and internal and external auditors.
- Contribute to team performance in order to build a motivated and productive team.
- Research technologies being implemented to ensure a good working knowledge that would be expected from a technical project manager.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects with deadlines simultaneously.
- Maintain working knowledge of common information security and state and federal privacy standards, laws, and government regulations particularly those involving the healthcare industry.
- Maintain working knowledge of IT Security framework standard practices (e.g. NIST, COBIT, ISO).
