Job Title: Product Manager - Automation Engineering

Location(s) : Mclean, VA/ Richmond, VA

Reponsibilites:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our team, focusing on Automation Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, coupled with a deep understanding of automation technologies. You will work closely with a team of talented automation engineers to define and deliver innovative solutions that streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Product Strategy and Vision:

    • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for automation solutions in alignment with business objectives.
    • Identify and prioritize opportunities for automation that align with customer needs and business goals.


  • Collaboration and Leadership:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and customer support, to deliver high-quality automation products.
    • Lead the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery.


  • Market and Customer Insights:

    • Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for automation.
    • Analyze competitive products and industry trends to ensure our automation solutions are best-in-class.


  • Requirements Definition:

    • Develop detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new automation features and enhancements.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that requirements are well-understood and feasible within the technical constraints.


  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:

    • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for automation products.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product performance, including successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.


  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks in the product development process and work with engineering teams to mitigate them.
    • Ensure that automation solutions adhere to security, compliance, and quality standards.


  • Customer Advocacy:

    • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring that automation solutions meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Engage with customers and end-users to gather feedback and validate product ideas.




Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on automation, engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, tools, and trends.
  • Experience working with engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, with a focus on understanding and solving customer problems.
  • Technical background or hands-on experience in automation engineering is a plus.


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience with cloud-based automation solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and A/B testing.
