Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Director of Information Security, this position is a member of a team of information security professionals and relies on strong players willing to contribute to ongoing projects and operational requirements regarding Enterprise Security Risk Management. In addition, the analyst will assist with completing risk assessments, updating and monitoring: policy and procedures, vendor configuration, and risk management. Work is generally diversified and requires accurate record documentation and independent judgement. May include assigning work to other personnel. Judgment and analysis are required in making decisions within established procedures. Supervision received is general in nature.
- Risk Mitigation: Ensures security, privacy, and risk-related threats are identified and mitigated around the clock. Evaluates risk and collaboratively identifies solutions which support academic and administrative technology planning.
- Enterprise Security Management: Maintains enterprise security services: Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), Privilege Account Management (PAM), Patching, Log Management, and Identity and Access Management (IAM). Also, maintains regulatory frameworks including PCI-DSS, HIPPA, FERPA, GLBA and NIST guidelines: 800-171, 800-53, CSF2.0
- Hardened Endpoint Configuration and Maintenance: Maintains secure endpoint hardening configurations and patching, collaborating on elevated vulnerability management. Collaborates with IT teams to package, test, and deploy hardened endpoint images.
- Vendor Management and Compliance: Assesses all technology acquisitions including hardware, software, web services, cloud contracts, and domain names meet IT and Purchasing policies. Ensures all digital assets comply with insurance requirements, regulatory mandates, and data specifications
- Support and Training: Maintains employee security training and communicates cyber best practices to employees and students. Provides support on elevated IT Help Desk tickets to resolve security related incidents.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Maintain knowledge of evolving threats in particular in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning.
- Other duties: Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- Associate Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or related field
Required Experience:
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in related field including performing cyber security workflows.

Required Licensure/Certification: None
Preferred Licensure/Certification: CISSP (or Associate of ISC2) certification
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position. General knowledge of cyber security threats and regulations. Ability to understand, interpret and explain rules, regulations, procedures, and written and oral instructions. Ability to organize and analyze information and develop effective solutions. Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means. Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain effective work relationships with peers, students, teachers, staff, representatives of outside agencies, educational institutions, and the general public. Ability to convey an image of professionalism and dedication in work related activities. Ability to work with culturally diverse student and employee populations and promote a positive work environment. Proficiency in the use of computers and software specific to position, including Microsoft Office Suite software and AutoCAD (including peripherals and networks) as well as basic operation, service and maintenance. Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision as an individual and team contributor. Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meets necessary deadlines.

Start Date: This position supports the Information Technology's department of IT Administration and will have a start date to be determined.
Hours/Location: This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, 1.0 FTE position. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Based out of the Milwaukee Downtown campus, 700 W State St, Milwaukee, WI 53233 Eligible for Flexible Work Arrangement
Salary: This is an exempt position and the pay range is $33.15 - $$44.75 ($68,952 - $93,080 annually). Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2023/2024 rates and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
