Job Title: Power Systems Electrical Engineer

Location(s): Rocklin, CA ( The roles will be hybrid with visit to Rocklin on 1 to 3 days per week based on the business need. Few times a year, visit to Vacaville office would be needed only if there is a key training or meetings.)

Responsibilities:


  • Ability to use Electrical Load Forecasting Application in Energy Management System (EMS)
  • Support day-to-day maintenance activities for EMS
  • Perform ETL tasks involving complex model with different databases
  • Automate manual data-oriented tasks using scripts
  • Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data and presents recommendations
  • Working with industry standard power flow analysis applications with minimal guidance from leader
  • Design, develop and implement modification to EMS system models to reflect ongoing changes to the transmission, generation and SCADA systems
  • Supporting the real-time applications - state estimator, contingency analysis and study applications such as electrical power flow.


Education/Certifications:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to report to Rocklin, CA.
  • Perl and Python scripting
  • Forecasting domain knowledge
  • Skilled in MS Office Tools


Desired:


  • Demonstrated experience with forecasting (e.g. Weather) and forecasting tools
  • Competitive candidates must have strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Competitive candidates should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to take initiative.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets and complex data structures
  • Knowledge of statistical theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and analyses as needed to perform at the job level
  • Knowledge of the Electric Transmission System.
