Under the direction of the Dean, Manufacturing, Construction and Transportation (MCT), the position is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of various short and long-term projects. The person will supervise some staff on a project-by-project basis, and represent the dean on an as needed basis in discussions for the successful completion of the activities. This person will learn and follow specific college procedures while leading work teams to successfully complete work relating to standard college business processes as well as the development of external corporate partnerships to meet specific stakeholder goals.


Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Scheduling and Support: Support the lead faculty in the most complex program areas with their class scheduling. This will entail strict adherence to scheduling procedures while leading a team of lead faculty to coordinate their schedules among multiple locations, including specialized classes with industry.
  • Records and Procedure Maintenance: Supervision of the Truck Driving pre-admission procedures. Leads the team that is in direct contact with potential students collecting and maintaining records with confidential information as they work toward program enrollment readiness.
  • Program Compliance and Tracking: Coordinate the Truck Driving Program random drug testing program in compliance with the Department of Transportation regulations for the College becoming the primary representative for adherence to DOT process. Collaborate with internal partners for the confidential assessment of employees related to this program who are subject to random drug testing. Develop a structured process for tracking special projects within the MCT Academic Pathway. This would include the vetting of new relationships in a clearly outlined process, organizing, and reporting on the status and needs to the Dean and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Partnerships and Communication: Maintain partnerships with existing programs that already have identified internal and external players to insure that the projects are moving forward, the stakeholders are still known. Lead regular plan-do-check-adjust (PDCA) with stakeholders to ensure there is adequate student support, quality delivery of instruction, and proper allocation of resources for each project. Provide proper communication to the Dean and other stakeholders on the progress and status.
  • Continuous Learning and Ongoing Development: Maintain current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organize and/or participate in applicable workgroups, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning. Participate in trainings and workshops to increase knowledge, awareness, and practice of the College's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Committee Involvement and Engagement: Chair and/or participate in cross-functional committees and organize regular status, review, and debrief meetings among stakeholders.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operations of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Qualifications

Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.

Minimum Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • At least three (3) year's experience in leading projects from start to finish in a manufacturing, construction & transportation environment; preferably with Truck Driving programs specifically

Base level requirements needed to perform the role.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communicate effectively about sensitive issues through both oral and written means.
  • Plays a major role in coordinating the primary function or activity of an administrative department or unit, or of a special program, and that role requires acting as the department, unit or special program liaison with college administrators, faculty members or external agencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs, carry, and push up to 20 lbs. and ability pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and a ladder and maintain balance.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear and speak.
  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: 45% of time spent sitting, 40 % of time standing, and 15% of time walking.

Supplemental Information

Start Date: The position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start as soon as possible.

Job Details: This is a part-time .5 FTE position, up to 19 hours per week, year round

  • Hours: Work takes place primarily weekday during business hours; flexible hours are available.
  • Location: MATC Oak Creek Location; on site. IN-PERSON

Salary: Salary is listed to the midpoint of the range and is based on the 2024/2025 rates, is determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.

Interviews: Selected qualified candidates will be invited to a virtual interview. Candidates who are selected after the first round will be invited to interview for a second round.
