Cape Fox Facilities Servicesis seeking a Project Managerto join our team in Bethesda, MD in support of the NIH. Oversee 200,000 sq ft of administrative and laboratory space, including four buildings, both on and off NIH main campus.
- Work with team to achieve organizational goals. Provide guidance and leadership to achieve exceptional customer service.
- Represent the VRC in high-profile construction project of a new six-story addition to VRC's main research building. Liaise with end users, project officers, construction team, and other key stakeholders to resolve issues. Communicate expected disruptions to staff and presents to 500+ staff members at All Hands Meetings. Leads Steering Committee presentations by distilling current project risks and status. Communicate updates to NIAID Leadership as requested. Provide technical design input and oversight, including electrical, HVAC, office/workstation design, and unique programmatic needs.
- Serve as member of NIH Special Events Team. Lead all facilities activities in preparation and execution of VIP events, including pre- and post-visit meetings, escorting the White House Advance Team and Secret Service for preparatory and day-of tasks, coordinating housekeeping and cosmetic repairs, supporting Pipe and Drape installation, working with AV teams for specialized press needs, and restoring buildings to original state post-visit.
- Direct and monitor all major construction, maintenance, and renovation projects within the facilities.
- Independently coordinate, manage, and implement VRC facilities renovation and construction projects, including working with the Associate Director for Management and Operations, scientific and administrative staff, and other stakeholders; prepares and initiates documents; arranges meetings with NIH Officials; assists in developing timelines for completing projects; and serves as the VRC project officer for the development of the design and renovation/construction of the space.
- Work with administrative and scientific staff to define requirements, obtain cost estimates, coordinate priorities, and assist in resolving problems.
- Ensure that all space utilization, renovation, and construction projects are consistent with NIAID, NIH, and DHHS policies and guidelines.
- Provide consultation, advice, and insight regarding project concept and acceptable solutions to facilities operations.
- Work closely with the NIH Office of Research Facilities and NIAID Office of Workplace Solutions to coordinate scheduling of construction work and staff relocations.
- Ensure the proper design, installation, modification, repair, maintenance, and testing of fire safety and life safety systems within the facilities, including coordinating with the NIH Division of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Provide interface with other NIAID Institutes and NIH on matters related to space, property, safety, and core facilities services.
- Act as liaison and provides assistance and support to facility occupants regarding the mechanical and operational systems of the facility, including resolving safety issues, cleaning of vacated space, assisting with installation of major new equipment, submitting requests for phone and data services, and coordinating moving and storage of equipment and material associated with renovations or construction.
- Maintain an automated database to track and monitor space assignments, requests for new space or loaned space, requests for renovation or construction of space, and requests to lease or rent space; reviewing requests and preparing recommendations to the Associate Director for Management and Operations on all facilities-related issues.
- Prepare documents related to inquiries or requests for data on the facilities, providing floor plans for site visits, and representing the Associate Director of Management and Operations, VRC at space-related meetings.
- Participate in a broad range of analytical and liaison activities in support of the planning and evaluation of NIAID/VRC program operation and administration, including preparing data suggesting methods for improving space utilization or accommodating mechanical equipment.
- Analyze, review, and appraise operations to develop methods to improve utilization of resources, initiate and effect necessary modifications and innovations, develop future and long-range planning documents, and ensure compliance with policies.
- Assist in leading Management and Operations team meetings for off-campus staff. Provides expertise in problem-solving facilities and safety related issues.
