Cape Fox, subsidiary Mountain Point is seeking a qualifiedSenior Project Manager. This candidate is responsible for day-to-day project management, including planning, coordinating, integrating, monitoring, and driving all project activities and milestones per plan; ensuring the maintenance of technical communications and business files; monitoring and reporting schedule variances from plan; appraising impact of variances; recommending and implementing corrective actions; and maintaining client communications. This position reports to the Sr Vice President of Construction for Mountain Point, a construction company. Work will be performed primarily within the North Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, and Florida. General construction work will include building renovations and repairs; new construction; pre-construction services, IT and physical security upgrades; electrical, plumbing and HVAC; and demolition. Civil and utility work will focus on specific electrical and underground water infrastructure (e.g., potable water, storm, sewer) and all associated earth moving services.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning, scheduling, organizing, directing and controlling assigned construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. The employee will provide management of projects, personnel, and clients with focus on project management, personnel management/mentoring, and business development. The Senior Project Manager provides overall direction to a project or group of projects of considerable size, scope and complexity. The employee ensures the accurate completion of all work products, proper quality control / quality assurance measures are in place consistent with corporate guidelines, and work procedures are performed in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities will be to establish, maintain, train, monitor, and improve company construction response efforts to interface with client, corporate, program, project, accounting, contracting, subcontracting, legal, and human resources teams in the areas of project controls, reporting, project cost tracking, compliance, scheduling, invoicing, staffing, subcontract management, and other government contract and corporate requirements

The Senior Project is responsible for management and oversight of self-perform projects and work performed by subconsultants and subcontractors. The Senior Project is responsible for the overall financial performance relative to project-specific budgets. will be the direct liaison with the Government Contracting Official on-site as well as directing the daily activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety rules, and quality/security requirements to maximize production and eliminate disruptions and downtime. The employee will ensure the construction schedule and budget are kept in accordance to plan. The Senior Project Manager will support the management of the Contractor Health and Safety Program (for purposes of this requirement, the Health and Safety Program is equivalent to Safety and Occupational Health Program in EM 385-1-1, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Duties include:




  • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.



  • Manage subcontractors; monitor, control performance, and ensure quality workmanship



  • Oversee preparation of daily reports of construction activity for office submittal



  • Supervise change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information; supplemental instructions and other contract documentation are required on behalf of Mountain Point



  • Assist Contract Manager so that each subcontractor is provided with Mountain Point's subcontract package and all agreements, submittals, required government documents, W-9, Certificate of Insurance, Certified Payroll, Lien Waivers, Schedule of Values, etc. are signed and returned to Mountain Point headquarters



  • Attend and participate in preconstruction progress, weekly meetings, coordination meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings



  • Support project health and safety plans in the workplace according to OSHA guidelines and EM385-1-1



  • Maintain high level of professionalism and carry out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service. Exercise tact, good manners and diplomacy



  • Assist in the establishment, training, and management of corporate processes including: construction project start-up and closeout systems and processes; construction project procurement and subcontracting systems and processes at their interface point with other company departments; project budgeting and scheduling systems and processes, and their interface point with other company departments.



  • Assist in the establishment, training, and management of construction project compliance systems and processes; construction project tracking and reporting systems and processes



  • Establish, train, and manage construction certified payroll systems and processes, and their interface point with client reporting, accounting and subcontract management; construction staffing and utilization systems and processes



  • Travel as required



  • Supervise the coordination and input as needed with the contractors providing services and infrastructure



  • Review progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients



  • Assist subcontractors with Federal procedures and rules



  • Enforce all client-required safety policies and procedures



  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crew member discipline and documentation



  • Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel



  • Submit as-builts on finished projects



  • Manage close out process and warranty responses with Site Superintendent





Work Environment

Primary work will be supporting construction efforts on U.S. Government contracts at military installations. Site Superintendents typically work full-time in a variety of settings, including offices, facilities or construction sites. The work typically involves considerable travel and fieldwork, and the employee can be exposed to dangerous or stressful situations. The employee must use safety equipment to minimize the risk of illness or injury.

Employee must be able to work with minimal supervision, be flexible, cooperative and take initiative; work well under pressure, plan, be resourceful, and well organized; maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and be polite and professional with the general public; maintain a professional approach towards work and a positive attitude and philosophy consistent with Company standards.
