Are you an experienced Railcar Repair Leader looking for opportunities to grow within a thriving company? If that's you, we invite you to join our team in being a part of an integral leadership role in helping us grow our operations in Railcar Repair.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:


The overall expectation for this position is to lead our railcar repair group by ensuring safe, efficient and productive operations in accordance with AAR, FRA and company guidelines.

  • Reviews AAR Circular Letters, Maintenance Advisories and Early Warning Letters, if applicable have systems to communicate with all affected employees
  • Facilitates customer, AAR and FRA compliance audits
  • Inspects and repairs tank car and hopper car
  • Provides information and advice to senior management on matters relating to safe and quality repair operations
  • Applies for facility registrations, if needed
  • Participates in plant supervisor meetings and overall training initiatives
  • Collaborates with field employees and customers to identify and implement improvements / efficiencies
  • Seeks new business opportunities and works to expand these operations, as appropriate
  • Identifies future leaders and creates individual employee development plans
  • Performs annual performance evaluations with field employees
  • Leads, monitors and trains on railcar repairs
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job


Preferred Job Qualifications:



  • Experience in a leadership role involving railcar repair operations, safety, and training
  • Tank car and hopper car inspections knowledge is required
  • Knowledge of certified valve work (C5/C6)
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build trust
  • Attentive and active listening skills


Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) or railcar repair
  • Must be able to obtain or possess a valid TWIC card and driver's license
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

You must be able to:

  • Speak, write, read fluent English. Hear and have good vision.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
