ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Analyzing and researching municipal issuers and borrowers in a wide range of sectors (general governmental, K-12, pension, economic development, higher education, etc.)
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing all relevant financial data for a client or prospect, including analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, etc.
  • Assist in modeling future financial performance of clients and prospects, including downside and breakeven scenarios.
  • Assist in preparing a thorough credit underwriting document identifying credit risks and mitigants, demographic concerns, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues
  • Engaging in comprehensive client and credit research
  • Take part in the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, including answering questions from Credit Executives
  • Assist in compliance with all Know Your Customer ("KYC") regulations
  • Properly maintain documentation and necessary business records
  • Assist senior staff in monitoring the ongoing financial performance of municipalities in the portfolio and tracking covenant compliance

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Experience with / knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including significant experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated strong written skills
  • Demonstrated competence in financial analysis and financial modeling
  • Understanding of fundamental financial concepts
  • Ability to plan, multi-task, manage time effectively, and work independently with limited direction
  • Ability to communicate professionally, competently, and persuasively in verbal and written formats

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or equivalent work experience
