Responsibilities Construction Inspector Responsibilities In this role, you will deploy to disaster sites to support FEMA or other government entities in the delivery of disaster recovery programs such as the Public Assistance (PA) program or the FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) Direct Housing program. Our Construction Inspectors assist FEMA, local government agencies and other program-eligible entities in the preparation of grant applications for the restoration of damaged public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, buildings and utilities, or use their expertise to plan for or monitor temporary housing solutions for disaster survivors. PA work includes site assessments of disaster-damaged infrastructure, documenting detailed damage descriptions, developing restoration or new facility scopes of work, formulating detailed cost estimates and assisting with hazard mitigation planning. While supporting Direct Housing missions, you may assess and document available temporary housing or monitor construction, installation or maintenance activities at temporary housing locations.
