Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Site Civil Engineer to join our expanding Site-Civil department in our Raleigh, NC office.

Candidates can expect to be continuously challenged to independently design and collaborate across teams and specialties to develop solutions and design projects to meet our client's needs using a balanced mix of advanced technology, professional judgement, and experience. In this position you can expect to work with a variety of stakeholders including land developers, owners, designers, and permitting agencies on an array of diverse projects for clients within the commercial, industrial, institutional and public sectors. You will be responsible, work well with a team, and communicate well with people of varying backgrounds and experiences to help our clients solve their most challenging problems.

Responsibilities

* Firm understanding of project phases from kick-off to closeout.
* Work as technical lead to accomplish:

1. Preliminary Engineering Due Diligence.
2. Research codes, ordinances and apply regulatory requirements required for site and land development projects.
3. Develop Conceptual Plans Based upon due diligence, research, and client requirements
4. Prepare Construction Plans for projects using Civil 3D including: Site Plan Layout, grading and drainage design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer utilities, erosion and sediment control design and details.
5. Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
6. Prepare and obtain all necessary permits through various Federal, State and Local Government agencies.
7. Coordinate with Other technical Disciplines as required.
8. Collaborating and managing design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.



Required Skills & Required Experience

* B.S. in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
* 5+ years of progressive design experience directly related to site/civil development projects.
* NC Licensed Professional Engineer (or if licensed outside NC, ability to obtain NC license within one year)
* Proficient with AutoCAD - Civil 3D.
* Proven track record of meeting project and client deadlines.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and municipal/county and regulatory /agency review staff.
* Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
* Writing and compiling stormwater reports and/or narratives.
