What an exciting time to be at St. Jude!
Our Design and Construction team is looking for a Project Manager II - Facility.
Under the general supervision of the VP of Design and Construction, the Project Manager II, independently manages complex construction projects and cross-functional project teams with major MEP infrastructure.
Other main duties include:
- Keeping projects within targeted schedules.
- Developing milestone and other project management tools for project success.
- Setting overall objectives and resources available for specific projects.
- Complying with departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
- Resolving conflicts and coordinates work with others.
- Identifying potential issues or concerns as early as possible to minimize impact to project and to effectively communicate to the client.

Being able to take a project and run with it independently is key in this role.
One of the main projects you will work on is our newest Advanced Research Center.
At least 6 years of experience in planning, designing, construction management, and contract administration of multimillion dollar building projects is required.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • High school/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related area preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Six (6) years of experience with the planning, design, construction management, and contract administration of building projects, which includes experience with multimillion dollar building projects required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for prioritization of project work to effectively manage all assigned work. Ensures the team is responsive to project goals.
  • Analyzes and determines if project team has the appropriate resources for the planned work. Review and provide analysis of project issues and or concerns. Works with team on potential solution strategies, with examples from past projects.
  • Escalates concerns if workload is impacting project success.
  • Responsible for team to be organized and set goals that are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Work with multiple outside agencies, city, state, etc. as required.
  • Work with users to manage successful compromises for the overall project goals.
  • Responsible for monitoring project goals and developing milestones. Responsible to proactively identify concerns / issues and develop recommended solutions for the team to implement.
  • Required to understand and address any project risks. If issue cannot be addressed independently, to escalate with recommended solutions
  • Develop communication with project teams and proactively provide draft communication for St Jude leadership. Maintain a high level of transparency. Escalate any conflict or potential deviation from the agreed project milestones and or baseline assumptions.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders, and demonstrates personal ownership and accountability.
  • Responsible to develop, project estimates and to manage project budgets. Provide projected project costs, to identify and communicate budget concerns. Ability, with thorough understanding of project goals, to question project adds.
  • Obtains, reviews, and provides analysis of project proposals including change orders. Requires additional information and backup as appropriate.
  • Proactively identify team conflict issues for review and resolution before issues develop and to escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Motivate and assure people involved with project to complete task on timely basis, within budget and specifications and safely.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

    Compensation

    In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $94,640 - $169,520 per year for the role of Project Manager II - Facility.
