Senior Program Manager-Clinical Trial Operations

Under the supervision of the Medical Director, Anatomic Pathology, the Sr. Program Manager-Clinical Trials Operations will establish the cultural and operational framework to strengthen collaboration between Pathology teams, internal and external study teams, and stakeholders to successfully design and execute strategies to coordinate and implement Pathology aims related to clinical trials, improving operational support of clinical research while mitigating impact and risk to the department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead one or more programs, typically consisting of multiple projects.
  • Participate in all aspects of programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Define program objectives. Promote the program internally and externally and track program utilization.
  • Establish processes, policies to support program goals.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Ensure activities are in compliance with institutional policies and any relevant external regulations.
  • Develop governance mechanisms, resource allocation and contingency planning.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to achieve program outcomes.
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelors degree required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Experience: 5+ progressive years of experience in a business-facing program management role.
  • Significant experience in risk management, issue resolution, resource management, and financial tracking of multiple/ complex programs.
  • Experience leading large/complex/ multiple programs with a focus on internal and external customer needs.
  • Proven experience in operational management, and budget planning & management through diverse program teams.
  • Proven experience facilitating and presenting updates to leadership team.
  • Experience in organizational capability development within program management.
  • People Managers only: Experience managing a program management team.

Preferred experience or skills:

  • Clinical medicine
  • Clinical Trials
  • Clinical Lab testing
  • Clinical research or Clinical Lab operations

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $94,640 - $169,520 per year for the role of Senior Program Manager-Clinical Trial Operations.
