St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has established an expansive and multicomponent initiative in translational neuroscience with a mission to understand and treat catastrophic childhood neurological disease. This new initiative integrates basic and clinical neuroscience and partners with industry and foundations to develop and implement novel therapies. A key component of this enterprise is the Center for Pediatric Neurological Disease Research (CPNDR) [https://www.stjude.org/research/initiatives/pediatric-translational-neuroscience-initiative.html]. The CPNDR is currently recruiting for basic science FACULTY positions. We seek exceptional and creative scientists to lead an innovative laboratory-based research program using cutting-edge approaches in molecular, genetic, biochemical, biophysical, cellular anatomical, and behavioral approaches to elucidate mechanisms and/or therapeutic strategies relevant to understanding and treating pediatric neurological disease. We are particularly interested in individuals using state of the art molecular neurobiology or neurogenetics, including "omics" approaches, imaging, or disease modelling using animal models or brain organoids focused on elucidating the pathogenesis of pediatric neurological disease. Early career investigators interested in contributing to a culture of excellence at St. Jude are particularly encouraged to apply, although we will consider mid-career or later investigators with a strong record of independent research and funding.

The research environment at St. Jude is outstanding. CPNDR investigators have access to state-of-the-art institutional shared resources managed by PhD level scientists, which support broad research endeavors including genomics, proteomics, computational biology, CRISPR-based genome editing, mouse modeling, iPSC disease modelling, cell sorting, live cell imaging, spatial and single cell omics modalities, and advanced image processing and analysis, amongst a variety of other specific departmental research infrastructures. There are abundant opportunities for collaborative interactions with world-class basic science and clinical investigators.

St. Jude offers very competitive packages, including generous startup funds, equipment, laboratory space, personnel and institutional support beyond the start-up phase.

Successful applicants will hold a PhD and/or MD degree, have at least three years of relevant postgraduate experience, and a demonstrated track record of outstanding productivity with high scientific impact. St Jude Children's Research Hospital is a private, not-for-profit institute that is internationally recognized for its commitment to performing cutting edge research and providing state of the art clinical services, with the goal to improve the outcome for children with catastrophic diseases.

Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a 2-3 page summary of current accomplishments and future research plans together with the names of three references directly online.
