Brief Description:

Compensation and Compliance is responsible for providing both strategic guidance and tactical support in the administration and support of policies, procedures and systems. This role collects, analyze, and maintains HR data to ensure the organization can attract and retain high quality employees.

The successful candidate will: set high standards of performance for themselves and others; be professional in written, verbal and personal actions in any situation; seek new knowledge and experiences; have an analytical mindset that can utilize factual data to develop creative and business-oriented solutions; be self- aware and adjust accordingly to different environments and audiences. This role performs under the general direction of Manager Compensation, aligns HR objectives of assignment, plans schedules, and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Detailed Description:



  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis by analyzing job descriptions to benchmark positions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations.
  • Determine job grade placement and target salary for new jobs.
  • Educate HR and Managers on compensation philosophy, pay policies, and program features.
  • Participate in salary and market surveys to determine market pay rates and salary structures.
  • Analyze current pay practices to ensure market competitiveness and provide solutions to the business.
  • Review new job title requests for applicability and provide suggestions based on job title methodology.
  • Implement and administer new programs and policies related to Compensation, Compliance, and other HR Programs.
  • Review data for accuracy and alert HR and management to correct inaccuracies.
  • Work with Vendors to support various HR Programs.
  • Work with the Regional HR teams on various audits.
  • Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight.
  • Utilize Oracle HCM to manage compensation data, perform analysis and generate reports.
  • Utilize Compensation Module within Oracle HCM to support business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:



  • At least 5+ years of experience working within Compensation and Human Resources.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Oracle or similar system.
  • Experience with international compensation practices is a plus.
  • Excellent Computer Skills, ability to run reports and complete analysis.
  • Experience in MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and impact on Employee Relations functions.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and identify variables in changing situations.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment when facing real-time situations consistent with Company values, expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills which include the ability to speak write and listen in a manner that clarifies issues, promotes closure, and delivers information clearly and concisely to facilitate sound decision-making.
  • Ability to prepare and present HR initiatives and programs to audiences including both management and employees.
  • Ability to always maintain Company and employee confidentiality; handle sensitive employee information and protect Company proprietary information in an appropriate manner.
  • High level of energy needed for a fast-paced environment where multiple initiatives are happening simultaneously.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Human Resources
  • Utilize Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, to analyze and report on compensation data
  • Proficiency in using Oracle HCM systems, with a strong understanding of compensation modules


Additional Details:

Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment. Frequent travel to other Company offices and drilling rig work sites, often in remote locations, is required during normal rig operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather), and employee will be expected to properly use designated personal protective equipment (PPE).
