We're hiring for an Audit Supervisor - Digital Currency Funds for our New York City office. Marcum is proud to be at the forefront of this emerging industry, providing digital currency services to both domestic and international clients. Our expertise enables digital currency and distributed ledger technology companies, from start-ups to mature businesses, knowing that their accounting, reporting, and tax compliance requirements are properly managed and assessed.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Perform audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries including financial intuitions, hedge funds and broker dealers
  • Experience with SEC, digital currency & blockchain a plus
  • Experience in financial services auditing
  • Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards, experience in researching as it relates to accounting and audit issues
  • Communicate with Partner, Director and/or Senior Manager on work status and client issues
  • Keep up to date on industry laws and regulations
  • Oversee audit planning, field work, and audit reporting; prepare reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Responsible for the daily supervision and development of audit staff.
  • Monitor actual time incurred and analyze actual time versus budgeted time.
  • Take full ownership and responsibility for all aspects of the assurance engagement from planning, to report issuance, to closing the binder.
  • Perform technical research as required
  • Communicate engagement needs to the client
  • Recognize extended services opportunities
  • Cultivate effective relationships with client and staff
  • Keep current on professional pronouncements
  • Participate in Level Training for junior staff
  • Proactively participates in professional development opportunities, i.e. Mentoring Program
  • Coach Staff
  • Practice development (recommended)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a preferred study in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role overseeing, planning, and reviewing engagements; supervising staff, interacting with clients and reviewing audits, reviews and compilations for clients in digital currency, financial services or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within funds and/or financial services
  • CPA license
  • Master's degree in Accounting
  • 1+ years' supervisory experience
  • 2+ years' experience with SEC issuers under US GAAP
  • Software Experience - CCH ProSystem, Microsoft Office 365

Compensation Range

Salary: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
