Advanced Practice Clinician Fellow in Cardiology

HealthPartners
United States, Minnesota, St. Paul
Sep 22, 2024

We are offering a 12-month post-graduate program to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in Cardiology with a targeted start date of January 2025.

The Cardiology APC Fellowship engages learners in extensive training in a variety of teaching environments and sub-specialties. Clinical and didactic experiences focus on honing skills necessary to effectively assess, coordinate, and deliver evidence-based and cost-effective care of acute cardiac conditions in the hospital and chronic cardiovascular diseases in the clinic. Responsibilities include basic medical duties of performing histories and physicals, formulating an assessment and plan, and providing necessary treatments and procedures. All work is supervised by an attending clinician. Building on the American College of Cardiology APC Competencies as the foundation of study, the APC Fellow will have the opportunity to continue their development of clinical competence, critical thinking skills, interprofessional collaboration and professional growth. This helps APCs successfully integrate into practice at an accelerated rate compared to on-the-job training.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional weekends & occasional evenings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program (Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion)
  • Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota with certification by the NCCPA or licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Minnesota & certified by AANP or ANCC

PA or NP students completing training are encouraged to pursue at least one rotation in Cardiology.

Application Requirements:

  • Resume/CV
  • Personal statement (addressing why you want to complete a fellowship and why in Cardiology)
