JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $22 per hour

Day Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for personal safety as well as involvement in all EHS efforts at this facility. This includes complying with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies or regulations set forth by Simonton and/or various governmental agencies.
  • Painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Assisting other departments as requested, including machine maintenance, plant electrical, janitorial, preventive maintenance, welding, moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
