Job Summary

Join our team as a Manufacturing
Engineer and become an integral part of our dynamic environment! In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our engineering team and production
department within a vibrant light manufacturing
, machining
, and assembly
setting. Your expertise will drive engineering services, offer valuable advice, and lead industrial engineering activities crucial for our operations.

As our Manufacturing
Engineer, with your tool design and development
skills you'll apply your hands-on knowledge of hi-pressure die -casting
and be at the heart of interaction with various functional roles and departments including project engineering, production
, tool engineering, and sales. Your responsibilities will encompass implementing quality system requirements, providing recommendations for product and process improvements, and spearheading corrective actions alongside continuous enhancement initiatives aligned with our quality vision and strategy.

As part of your role, you'll delve into investigating customer complaints and addressing process nonconformities, ensuring we maintain the highest standards throughout our operations. Join us and be at the forefront of innovation and improvement in manufacturing

Responsibilities

Process Development and Improvement:


  • Develops and implements process improvements to reduce costs, enhance product marketability and reliability, improve competitiveness, and improve quality and/or safety of specific operations.

  • May prepare and submit capital justifications necessary to support the changes necessitated within the forecasted budget.

  • Coordinates the implementation of all new product and model changes through cooperation with other departments.

  • Identifies production
    concerns and takes steps to correct problems.





Documentation:


  • Initiates and maintains documentation, prepares reports, blueprints, etc. supporting process and manufacturing
    improvements.


  • Develops budget requests regarding any plan changes.




Programming and Equipment:


  • Performs programming for casting and related equipment.

  • Prepare detailed equipment specifications.

  • Assist in installing and bring new equipment up to production
    and quality standards.


  • Hands-on investigation and troubleshooting within equipment to countermeasure issues and to determine improvement activity.




Cost Containment:


  • Provides product cost information and new product estimates to assist management in the justification of capital expenditures.

  • Reviews prototype designs with Engineering to recommend design changes to develop and reduce target costs.




Quality:


  • Develops and maintains all departmental procedures supporting and maintaining ISO certification.




Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree required (or international equivalent) in Engineering or related field.

  • 5+ years' experience as a manufacturing
    engineer in production
    environment may be accepted in lieu of a degree.


  • Minimum of 3+ years working experience performing in the role of manufacturing
    or industrial engineering.


  • Must be able to develop excellent working relationships with all levels of the organization in order to work through quality problems and staff to carry out corrective actions identified.

  • Proficient in computer software




Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements


  • Position is site based

  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident

  • Expect 50% time in an office environment and 50% on production
    floor.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear appropriate personal safety protection equipment.




Key Competencies


  • Experience with tool design
    and development.


  • Experience working with and knowledge of hi-pressure Die Cast process.

  • Experience or knowledge of programmed automation
    robotics.


  • Certified Manufacturing
    Engineer (preferred)
