Work type: On Campus Location: Normal, Illinois Title: WGLT Extra Help Reporter Department: Radio Station WGLT Campus Location: Normal, IL General Summary WGLT, the NPR member-station in Normal, IL, is looking to hire correspondents to report a variety of stories for our newsroom. Radio experience is preferred, but those with newspaper or TV backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. Hours are flexible based on your availability. Work can be performed at the WGLT offices/studios or out in the field depending on the story assignment. Benefits include time away from work for eligible employees and the option to participate in the University's 403(b) Plan. Required Qualifications Professional or student media experience in print or broadcast journalism. Work Hours Work hours are flexible and based on availability. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
