POSITION OVERVIEW

Wurth Revcar Fasteners, a division of Wurth Industry North America, is seeking a dynamic and experienced sales professional to lead our team of Business Development Specialists as a Business Development Manager. This role involves managing team goals aligned with Sales and Marketing to generate consistent and viable opportunities with prospects. The ideal candidate will excel in relationship building, cold calling, presentations, marketing, research, strategy execution, project management, analysis, and reporting.

Manage The Program:

Wurth Revcar's Business Development Specialists are part of a 15-18 month well-established program for recent college graduates. During this time, they participate in a concentrated sales training program to provide the fundamental skills necessary to achieve a successful career in their next role at Wurth. Each Business Development Specialist works closely with Wurth's National Sales Team by assisting with strategic prospecting efforts and extensive market research. This provides the opportunity to learn from business leaders across the organization, deepening industry knowledge through a structured learning environment. This program consists of eight total people: three in Roanoke, VA and five in Brooklyn Park, MN (two interns). 50% travel - split time between both locations required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Team Management: Prepare selling strategies, targets, and goals for the Business Development Specialists. Conduct weekly goal tracking and 1:1 meetings with team members for feedback and guidance
  • Talent Development: Implement a Sales & Marketing Leadership Program to attract, retain, and advance talent in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and HR Leadership.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and Supply Chain teams to identify customer opportunities using Point of Sale data.
  • Program Monitoring: Continuously monitor programs to provide quantitative evidence of sales growth and profitability.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research and analyze internal data to determine program effectiveness and refine prospecting methods.
  • Prospect Database Management: Establish a structured approach for market and territory research. Maintain and review the master prospect database monthly for accuracy and progress.
  • Unified Sales Approach: Share prospect lists and leads with sales managers to ensure a unified approach across the division.
  • Daily Support: Collaborate with the team on leverage letters, phone calls, customer follow-ups, and ongoing projects.
  • Training and Development: Provide continuous training and education to team members on various topics, including sales tactics, manufacturing, supply chain, and industrial distribution.
  • Recruitment and Career Guidance: Work closely with HR on team recruitment and provide career path guidance and coaching for each employee.
  • Cultivate Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration and camaraderie within the team.
  • Ongoing Learning: Attend training programs as required and perform other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, and other Business-related fields
  • Two-five years of experience in key account management or new business development, ideally in industrial distribution space
  • High standard of professionalism and ethics
  • Self-motivated and strategic leader ready to share passion for business development through management of others
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and with written communications
  • Effective persuasive skills and ability to train others
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Travel estimated: 50% - Split time between both Roanoke, VA and Minneapolis, MN
