OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST 7 - Application Developer Salem - OYA Equitable Building - Information Systems Department

Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is actively seeking an Application Developer to join our diverse team. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and maintaining software for the Oregon Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS). As an Application Developer at OYA, you will work in a dynamic technical landscape encompassing multiple desktop operating systems, client/server technology, web technology, and relational databases. You'll be at the forefront of migrating our systems to the innovative Cardinality.ai low-code platform, requiring proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Oracle RDMS, and more.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in full-stack web development and a passion for mastering new tools and methodologies associated with low-code development. Your adaptability, problem-solving skills, and collaborative mindset will be invaluable as we navigate complex technical challenges together.

While experience with technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, React, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, and NestJS is preferred, it is not required. What We Are Looking For:

  • Six (6) years of information systems experience in Software Development with a focus on Full Stack web application development including experience designing, developing, building, constructing, and maintaining web applications on both the frontend and backend.

OR

  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;AND
  • four (4) years of information systems experience in Software Development with a focus on Full Stack web application development including experience designing, developing, building, constructing, and maintaining web applications on both the frontend and backend.

OR

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND
  • two (2) years of information systems experience in Software Development with a focus on Full Stack web application development including experience designing, developing, building, constructing, and maintaining web applications on both the frontend and backend.

OR

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

  • Experience with client-side web application frameworks (i.e., React, Angular, Vue, Svelte).
  • Experience with backend web development technologies (i.e., .NET, Java, Node.js)
  • Experience working with enterprise relational databases.
  • Experience creating and/or consuming Web/REST APIs
  • Experience consuming Web/REST APIs
  • Experience as a low-code developer.
