Position Summary:
Position maintains and supports the content and functionality for all of MBA Education's commercial/multifamily training programs. Varying by project, the position identifies, engages, and manages external or internal subject matter experts to ensure the consistency and quality of MBA Education's library of commercial/multifamily courses, including all course content, prep materials, and assessments. The position interacts regularly with MBA staff, internal/external subject matter experts, and instructors to advise on the strategy for development, maintenance, and enhancement of all commercial/multifamily classroom courses, instructor-guided online courses, web-based self-study courses, and certification and designation programs. The position is an individual contributor role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as main subject matter expert for MBA Education's Commercial Real Estate Basics instructor-guided online courses. Work with MBA Education's instructional designers to ensure content remains up-to-date and relevant to industry standards and changes. Respond to student questions and assist with grading efforts. Helps identify industry professionals to instruct courses and ensure new instructors are comfortable with course materials and expectations.
- Develops and maintains content for MBA Education's 40+ commercial/multifamily web-based self-study courses. Ensures that content is up-to-date and reflects the full spectrum of commercial/multifamily mortgage servicing. Identify industry experts to help verify and update information as needed. Work to enhance courses through new interactivity, knowledge checks, and scenarios.
- Provides support for MBA Education's FHA Multifamily training programs which currently includes FHA MAP, FHA Affordable, and FHA Section 232. Assist with content updates, student support, instructor coordination, and virtual session delivery.
- Supports the administration and success of MBA Education's two commercial/multifamily certification and designation programs. Ensure that assessment questions and preparatory or study materials remain relevant and up-to-date. Support students in their matriculation through the programs and answer questions from prospective students. Lead online preparatory sessions and help identify speakers as needed.
- Ensure content is maintained for MBA Education's School of Multifamily Mortgage Banking and School of Multifamily Property Inspections. Work with industry subject matter experts to update content, and add or replace content as needed to ensure completeness of agenda. Monitor assessment questions for relevance and accuracy.
- Assist with the maintenance and management of MBA's Learning Management System (LMS) for applicable courses. Upload relevant documents, grade necessary coursework, and ensure proper settings are in place.
- Provides direct subject matter expertise and/or recruits and manages a select group of subject matter experts and faculty specializing in various areas of commercial/multifamily mortgage lending such as loan origination, servicing, underwriting, securitization, property inspection and environmental concerns, appraisal, legal and compliance, and more.
- Support MBA's member engagement and business development efforts by speaking to value of training programs and helping members identify needs and target audience at the organization.
- Assist team with identifying potential topics for webinar programming and help identify speakers and subject matter experts.
- Stays abreast of current industry developments and trends (e.g., by reading trade magazines and newsletters, attending weekly residential policy meetings, attending conferences, and networking) and makes recommendations for content creation and revision.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 7 years of commercial/multifamily mortgage banking and lending experience. Ideal candidate has a broad knowledge of property types, lending platforms and programs, financing vehicles, and industry participants. Is able to create network of volunteer subject matter experts to help ensure programming remains best-in-class for the industry and MBA's members.
Competencies:
- Requires knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting and finance.
- Requires superior writing and editing skills, ideally in developing training materials.
- Requires strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage content, either directly or through outside subject matter experts, across a broad range of commercial/multifamily mortgage banking topics
