Job Description: Assist clients to identify vocational strengths, limitations, work accommodations, and recommendations in preparation for returning to work. This service is part of the vocational rehabilitation process for clients and a part of the whole rehabilitation continuum.
Principle Responsibilities
- Provide vocational evaluation services to clients.
- Conduct intake interviews and review referral information medical and psychological reports for an understanding of client needs and interests and referral source questions and concerns.
- Schedule evaluation sessions that best serves the client's needs and meets the annual revenue projections of the program. Service may be provided on or off-site.
- Develop and implement a vocational evaluation plan to evaluate client's ability and interest for work with length of service running from a few hours to one week.
- Administer, score, and interpret psychometric tests, inventories and work samples to identify the client's vocational interests, achievement levels, general and specific aptitudes, values, worker traits and/or physical tolerances.
- Modify evaluation methods as necessary due to disability factors including assistive technology.
- Provide career exploration activities so that the client becomes more aware of occupations and their related expectations to assist in their career decision making process.
- Observe, document, and identify vocational strengths, limitations, work behaviors, and work accommodations.
- Develop recommendations for vocational goals and vocational rehabilitation and other community services based on evaluation information.
- Complete intake and billing paperwork.
- Maintain relationships with referral sources and established worksites.
- Communication of evaluation results with client and referral source.
- Write reports describing the evaluation process, outcomes and recommendations.
- Schedule and conduct a staffing meetings with the client, referral source and other involved parties.
- Explain evaluation results all interested parties, answer questions and discuss final recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or similar
