Senior Chemist

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Senior Chemist located in Sugar Land, TX.This is an entry level position that will support the Asset Integrity team.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and transfer phase 0 -1 chemistry and formulation concepts

• Collaborate with anchor and divisional research scientists/RDE leaders on new development projects and platforms

• Actively engage in development of new platforms that meet strategic business needs

• Interpret experimental data and communicate results clearly to peers and project teams in written reports and oral presentations

• Provide consulting on experimental design, mentoring, and work direction for junior lab scientists

• Maintain employee safety standards, including 5S lab standards

• Laboratory evaluations may consist of working with substances such as hydrogen sulfide which requires special handling and training

• Perform technical assessments for new and/or existing product applications and providing solutions.

• Developing new products from existing raw materials or new synthesis developments

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, OR an advanced degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in industry communicating daily with internal and external customers

• Experience with utilizing and logging samples into a laboratory information management system (LIMS) or other sample/data tracking platform such as SAP

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization

• The candidate should be outgoing, creative, a self-starter, and team orientated
