About Lakewood Regional Support

Our regional support center provides resources to our hotels for multiple areas including Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and Communications.

Responsible for designing building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials.
Essential Functions
  • Prepare the layout of the project.
  • Estimate height, width, length and other proportions.
  • Select materials.
  • Work with blueprints or instructions form supervisors.
  • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.
  • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
  • Join materials with nails, screw, staples, or adhesives.
  • Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of building.
  • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Work with prefabricated buildings.
  • Install cabinets and moldings.
  • Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors.
  • Repair or build furniture.
  • Install partitions, doors, and windows.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel

  • Required to attend all training sessions and meetings

  • Ability to perform "Physical Requirements" and "Mental Effort Requirements" as explained below.

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:

  • Work with accounting department to resolve any problem associated with purchase order/receiving tickets.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Required:

  • Excellent costumer service skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with costumers.
  • Comfortable with Windows-based software.
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees.
  • Complies with required safety regulations and procedures.
  • Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules.

Preferred:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral.
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma, or equivalent GED.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years working as a carpenter,

in a cabinet shop or other commercial setting.

Licenses or Certificates: Valid state driver License.
