Provide supervision and coordination of all aspects of nursing care, office laboratory and ancillary testing in community based ambulatory care center. Coordinate and implement quality assurance for direct patient care and clinical follow-up. Maintain flow of patient care in the clinical setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Current licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse in state of practice required. 2. Current BLS certification, or able to obtain upon hire. EXPERIENCE: 1. Five years of practical nursing experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.Associate's Degree EXPERIENCE: 1. Epic end user experience 2. Supervisory experience in the clinical setting. 3. Five years of practical nursing experience required preferably in a family medicine clinic. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Participate in the interviewing and selection of clinic staff; Investigate concerns and prepare corrective actions for employees as necessary. Document and give performance appraisals of clinical staff 2. Supervise and coordinate ambulatory nursing care. Ensure staffing, delegate assignments, update nursing staff on new policies/procedures and ensure implementation, monitor effectiveness for clinical support staff at center. Prepares patient care report for staff meetings. 3. Supervise and coordinate office laboratory and ancillary testing ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA standards. Ensure equipment is in good service and operated safely and properly by staff. Assess for staff in-service training needs, reports, and documentation related to ongoing or regulatory standards. 4. Coordinate community outreach efforts, including community health clinics, physicals and testing. Coordinate office practice based clinical research data collection per research protocols. 5. Price equipment, clinical service contracts, reference lab services and clinical and lab supplies. Responsible for coordination of medical supply orders for clinic. Exercise proper stewardship through the appropriate use of supplies, equipment, and time. 6. Member of Quality Management Team, act as a leader in nursing and direct patient care; Be an active member of appropriate committees per clinic specific needs and as directed. Attend quarterly Lead Nurse meetings held by Director of Quality & Nursing 7. Serve as support contact for providers and staff in the application of EPIC (electronic medical record). Travel to Morgantown for certification and training, as needed. 8. Provide direct patient care. Perform all LPN direct nursing care duties per licensed scope of practice. Must assess patient problems including type and level of care needed through triage. 9. Follows hospital, state and federal guidelines for ensuring safe environment for workers, patients and public. Ensures compliance by staff to hospital, governmental and insurance regulations. 10. Communicates and interact with clients, families, visitors, physicians, departmental and hospital staff and the public in general in a manner that demonstrates professionalism and concern for the individuals' need(s). 11. Participate in the processes to assess and improve the services provided and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reports results assessment and improvement processes to the appropriate administrative levels. 12. Willingly accept assignments within scope of practice, skill set and level of competence. 13. Complete monthly Quality Assurance assignments in conjunction with office supervisor and Director of Quality & Nursing 14. Complete and monitor all employee health requirements for staff; to include: annual PPD skin tests, mask fitting, influenza vaccines, and TDAP vaccines. 15. Complete training for all new clinical staff. Maintain annual competency reviews for all clinical staff. Oversee appropriate licensure and certifications for all clinical staff and providers. 16. Resolve and research all patient complaints related to clinical issues. Conduct service recovery and root cause analyses as needed. 17. Educate and prepare all staff for annual clinic inspections as directed by Director of Quality & Nursing. Preparations to include education at each monthly staff meeting. 18. Assist supervisor with completion and continuation of annual performance improvement project. 19. Act as a clinical leader in office and be a resource for all UHP ambulatory clinics. May require training in other clinics apart from "home base" and may require trainees to come work in the "home base" location with the Lead LPN PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
