Weston is looking for a qualified Construction Inspector to join our team to provide inspection and oversight for our environmental and infrastructure projects. Duties for this position include conducting field inspections, documenting construction activities and progress, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and safety standards, and communicating with project managers and contractors. This individual will need to effectively report and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of construction management and inspection principles and practices.
Please note: This is a contract position with no minimum hours assured. Work will be scheduled based on client readiness for inspections.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High school degree required; plus, minimum 5 years related construction inspection experience.
- Bachelor's degree or certification in engineering, construction, or related field preferred but not required.
- Have thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction work.
- Experienced with water and wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, construction, and repairs
- Experienced in structural concrete, and concrete pavement construction methods, as well as familiarity with required testing procedures.
- Soil compaction and density testing experience.
- Must have experienced in Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete (HMAC) inspection methods.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, climbing ladders and steps, stand for extended hours at job site and wear protective gear.
- Valid driver's license. Must be willing to travel on a routine basis; this travel will include both local fields and office sites.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Expected Outcomes:
- Provide field inspection of pavements, bridge structures, retaining walls, sidewalks, channels, water distribution/transmission mains, wastewater collection systems, tunnels, buildings and other engineered facilities.
- Conduct thorough inspections of water and wastewater pipelines, including but not limited to sewer lines, water mains, and associated appurtenances. Ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Oversee and perform pressure testing of pipelines to verify their integrity, including hydrostatic and pneumatic testing. Document test results accurately and promptly.
- Inspect concrete structures, foundations, and reinforced structures for quality, compliance with design plans, and structural integrity. Monitor the placement and alignment of rebar.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, test results, and construction activities. Prepare inspection reports and provide feedback to project managers and contractors.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations on the construction site to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to identify and resolve construction issues, deviations from plans, and quality control problems.
- Assist in the evaluation of change orders, as well as the inspection of work related to change orders, to assess their impact on project scope and budget.
Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Salary Range: $44,200 - $59,000 - $73,700
