Job Description

Are you an experienced LabVIEW Programmer looking to help support the United States Navy's Mission?If so, our team in Bethesda, Maryland is looking for you!

As a Systems Engineer III you will:



  • Work directly in support and execution of UWR-McLean capabilities for the US Navy.

A week in the life of a Systems Engineer III:



  • Develop software in LabVIEW programming environment.
  • Design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems for onboard ship and submarine research.
  • Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of National Instruments data acquisition modules and LabVIEW software.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Conduct Independent Verification and Validation of existing LabVIEW software.
  • Conduct testing with actual system hardware and document test results.
  • Some travel (< 5%) required to customer test sites for software system installation, checkout, operation, and troubleshooting

Job Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Science, Applied Math, or closely related field.
  • National Instruments CLA or CLD Certification
  • This position is 100% on-site.


At least 7 years of experience in:



  • Developing LabVIEW software.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
