Weston is seeking an Engineering Associate to support and assist Weston's senior technical and other management staff.

Location: West Chicago, IL

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, plus a minimum of 1 to 5 years related experience.
  • EIT certification preferred, but not necessary.
  • Experience with water, wastewater, and remediation design and construction projects.
  • Experience or interest in operations, troubleshooting and support of water treatment and remediation systems.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willing to travel locally and have a valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and CAD programs including Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Understanding of Bentley MicroStation and ERSI Arc Map a plus.
  • Effective at communicating with colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors. Must be able to explain scopes of work (RFP) and obtain quotes from vendors.
  • Able to work effectively in group settings.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Effective writing skills to assist with report writing and engineering/construction cost estimates.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to environmental (including water, wastewater, geotechnical, and hydrogeological) studies and remediation and operations activities.
  • Perform various engineering related calculations, analyses, and interpretation of complex information in the application of the basic design criteria to support environmental remediation, water, and wastewater treatment, and other construction projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering designs, including plans, specifications, and operations reports.
  • Assist in the procurement of equipment vendors and contractors.
  • Collaborate and work with CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist the lead Project Engineers and Program Manager in estimating and tracking project costs.
  • Coordinate the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports. Assist in coordination of report production and development of engineering designs and specifications. Perform quality control (QC) checks.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $55,500 - $74,100 - $92,600
