Job Description
We are searching for a mission-driven professional with a Top-Secret clearance to join our team as a seasoned Network Engineer 3 near Stafford/Fredericksburg, VA. This support work is part of our recently awarded 5-year contract with option periods running through 2027.
As a seasoned Network Engineer 3, you will:
- Join an already established team with opportunity to grow.
- Support a Department of Justice, FBI program, who designs, builds, and implements highly technical data collection systems.
- Support a technology lab who dynamically implements technology to meet their outside customers uniquely defined evidence collection needs.

A week in the life of a seasoned Network Engineer 3:
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) for mostly CISCO and Microsoft based environments.
- Administer servers, desktop computers, routers, switches, firewalls, and Active Directory.
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network related devices.
- Performs the installation and administration of Video Management Software including but not limited to the Milestone Systems XProtect Enterprise and Corporate products.
- Build and implement automation scripts to manage and or update system configurations.
- Resolve tiers of support issues by troubleshooting network infrastructures.
- Lead and mentor team members on technical network issues.
- Create, oversee, and test network security measures (i.e., access authentication and disaster recovery).
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
Job Requirements
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with the willingness to take an agency CI polygraph when requested.
- High School Diploma (HS) and 13+ years, Associates Degree (AS) and 10+ years, Bachelors' Degree (BS) and 6+ years or a Masters' Degree (MS) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) for CISCO based environments.
- Administer servers, desktop computers, routers, switches, firewalls, and Active Directory.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work on own with minimal supervision.
- Ability to support up to 5% CONUS travel.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The
salary range for this position is $115,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education level, and other factors permitted by law.
