SSOE is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineering Group Manager to join our team. You will have the opportunity to effectively lead, manage, and mentor the Mechanical staff and design work, with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance of cutting-edge systems for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities serving global leaders in technology. As a Mechanical Engineering Group Manager, you will have a foundation in leading and managing a team of Mechanical staff to ensure the technical competency and quality of work performed by the staff. This person will also coordinate with various disciplines within the organization (electrical, architectural, process/chemical, structural, etc.) and will be an integral part of problem-solving complex designs for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world's leading high-tech companies. This position is an onsite role that will require you to work onsite each day and be located in the N. Phoenix, AZ area. Remote or hybrid work arrangements for this role are not available.



Responsibilities

    Effectively lead, manage, and mentor the Mechanical Engineering staff with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
  • Set clear technical goals and objectives, assess technical progress, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on technical accountability. Deploy a strategy that builds, retains, and engages all employees through technical inclusion and teamwork.
  • Coordinates with various engineering disciplines within the organization (architectural, electrical, process/chemical, structural, etc.) to collaborate, optimize, and improve work and staff sharing by participating in multi-discipline technical strategy sessions.
  • Assists all levels of Management in articulating technical discipline capability requirements in support of strategic and business objectives.
  • Identifies, champions, mentors, and coaches the development of our less experienced staff and looks for ways to elevate the technical and professional expertise of the team.
  • Strategically collaborate with other Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with functional requirements and safety protocols.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical design issues during the planning and construction phases, ensuring efficient and functional designs.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data, verify design requirements, and ensure compliance during construction phases.
  • Lead design review meetings, providing expert insights and recommendations for efficient design solutions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain an active PE license is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, semiconductor, high technology, and/or battery manufacturing industry is essential.

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
