SSOE is seeking a seasoned and proficient Project VDC/BIM Specialist to fortify our team. The ideal candidate will assume a pivotal role in elevating project efficiency and coordination by adeptly implementing VDC/BIM processes. This role necessitates a primary focus on fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders, enforcing BIM standards and workflows, and ensuring seamless integration of VDC/BIM technologies across the project lifecycle.



Responsibilities

    Collaborate closely with project teams to delineate and establish precise VDC/BIM requisites and objectives for each project.
  • Devise and execute project specific VDC/BIM execution plans encompassing BIM deliverables, timelines, and workflows.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth assimilation of VDC/BIM procedures into project workflows.
  • Oversee and supervise the progress of VDC/BIM tasks, ensuring strict adherence to established timelines and milestones.
  • Formulate and implement BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols organization wide.
  • Process laser scan point cloud data to create design and construction models.
  • Execute specialized modeling applications such as 4D simulations and point layout extractions.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends in VDC/BIM technologies, recommending suitable tools and software for optimized project outcomes.
  • Provide adept guidance and support to project teams regarding BIM modeling techniques, clash detection, and coordination processes.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks to uphold accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established BIM standards.
  • Foster seamless collaboration among project stakeholders (architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors) for efficient information exchange.
  • Organize BIM coordination meetings, clash detection sessions, and multidisciplinary coordination reviews.
  • Cultivate a knowledge-sharing culture, offering training to project teams on BIM software and workflows.
  • Assist Project Managers in formulating requests for proposals and specifications for Reality Capture (3D laser scanning) and other outsourced BIM/VDC services.


Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise (5+ years) in a VDC/BIM Specialist or similar role within the AEC industry.
  • Profound understanding of BIM standards and practices (e.g., IFC, LOD, clash detection).
  • Robust comprehension of project workflows with a knack for integrating VDC/BIM into these processes.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard BIM modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Plant 3D, Inventor).
  • Competence with VDC applications software (e.g., Navisworks Manage, ReCap), Autodesk Application Plugins (e.g., IDEATE BimLink or Model Explorer), etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Bluebeam, SharePoint, Revit Server, DMS (document management systems), A360 and/or BIM 360.
  • Proficiency or familiarity with Software/API customization, SQL database knowledge is desired.
  • Exposure to programming languages, scripting, or automation tools for BIM (e.g., Dynamo, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse project teams.
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and relevant certifications.
